FAQs
Why are some of the yarns so much more expensive than others?
Our materials are sourced from many places. Most of our bulk product is made from wool roving from R. H. Lindsay Company Wool Merchants in Massachusetts. But we believe in local and love to source materials from local farms, flocks, and fiber artists. Locally-sourced materials have a higher initial cost which is then reflected in the finished price. This explains why some of our yarns of the same yardage can have drastically different prices. The yarn descriptions will indicate whether the fiber is local or not.
What is the difference between USPS Priority shipping and reusable package shipping?
We believe in supporting the USPS and offer two shipping options:
USPS Priority shipping: Using priority mail shipping supplies, packages arrive in 1-3 days from the date we mail at the post office. Prices are set by USPS.
Reusable package shipping: This is a less expensive option that uses recycled boxes and bubble mailers saved from FATEFW orders and mailed via USPS Retail Ground rates; packages arrive 2-8 days from the date mailed at the post office. We offer this option to promote earth-friendly practices.
How do I pick the best yardage of yarn for a gift?
For gifts, we encourage 100 yards or more, which is enough to make a hat, pair of gloves, or a small accessory.
What can I make with your yarn?
Our yarn is very versatile and can be used for many projects and crafts. You can knit, crochet, weave, felt, macramé and more with our yarn! Or simply wear a skein scarf as is. We are impressed and surprised by the many creative ways yarn can be used. Please tag us on Instagram and Facebook (@fleeceandthankewefiberworx) so we can see your unique creations!
How do I care for your yarn?
Our yarn is NOT machine washable. Please hand-wash only, with mild soap and warm water, then lay flat to dry. This includes all garments or items created with our yarn.

Both entities are handmade by the same person. Fleece & Thank Ewe Fiber Worx specializes in creating one-of-a-kind hand-dyed and hand-spun art yarn. What does sliding scale pricing mean?
Out of the Loops is committed to accessibility and allowing everyone to have a chance to purchase a handmade piece. Sliding scale pricing allows there to be a price range, and lets the customer choose what works best for them. The low end of the sliding scale pricing is the minimum I can accept for a piece while still respecting the time and materials that went into it. The high end of the sliding scale pricing is what the piece actually costs when I pay myself for my time. Pieces that offer a sliding scale will have directions at the bottom of the listing for sliding scale options.
